I've already seen and heard far more sermons on the late
Richard Holbrook's endlessly many incomparable talents than I care to, but I wouldn't mind so much if all the hagiography happened to provide the occasion for a wider circulation of the Great Man's last words. We've got to get out of Afghanistan, we’ve got to stop this stupid, incomprehensible, undefinable, unwinnable, atrociously tragic wasteful idiotic war.
It's my biggest beef with Obama. Why not just shut the war down? Instead you've got an escalation in Afghanistan and military operations in Pakistan and Yemen.
