There is no such thing as "technology" in general, and the complex and contingent uses to which our devices and techniques are put are shaped by the non-technical norms we variously and vicariously bring to them. Also, you are all going to die and your toypile will never reach heaven, so for heaven's sake connect with people now and often in ways you will recall with fondness rather than with bitterness and regret.
