Speaking of Obama videos, have any of you seen Alex Jones' new film The Obama Deception, which is becoming quite popular with the Zeitgeist:The Film-loving left-wing conspiracy theorist crowd?

From Martin Duberman's _Cures: A Gay Man's Odyssey_ (1991),
Chapter 8, "Politics".
-----------------------------------------------
[M]y limited contributions [to politics] consisted of
signing assorted petitions (like the Writers and Editors
War Tax Protest to "dissociate myself from my government's
actions in Vietnam") and writing assorted articles supporting
the antiwar movement and the continuing struggle for
black rights. In several of those articles I tried to
use a historian's perspective to modify what I thought were
too sanguine or too cynical positions sometimes adopted
by movements I otherwise deeply sympathized with.

Thus I strongly supported SDS's general indictments of
U.S. intervention in the internal affairs of other countries,
but I took issue in the _Village Voice_ with SDS leader
Carl Oglesby's characterization of it from the earliest
days of the Republic as having been always motivated by
the wish to maximize profits for American business.
This economic explanation, I argued, was too simplistic
and, as related to the present day, even naively partial.
For in my view Lyndon Johnson and Dean Rusk were dangerously
misguided men not solely because they had become the
willing tools of American business, but also because they
were the unwilling prisoners of their own altruistic
fantasies, **genuinely** believing that they were saving
the world for democracy and from communism. To recognize
the complexity of their motives in my view clarified
rather than softened the indictment against them.

Plus plus ça ça change change. . .

Cha cha cha.

So Obama was actually choked up with lies there since he (or his treasury secretary) knew and authorized the bonuses in order to supposedly protect the administration from lawsuits?
