Lying Machine

The tendency of the corporate press to "balance" the "two sides" of every issue (world, curved or flat?), rather than actually doing the work of weighing claims against a best determination of the facts, creates a situation that favors liars over non-liars and so actually actively incentivizes lying -- at least from those dishonorable people inclined or willing to do so. More liars and more lying seems to be the result, especially from Republicans who have never had the people on their side where their policies are concerned and so have had to "hard sell" most of them even in the best of times. I guess we should all pretend to be surprised now by this perfectly predictable result.
