A Little Juxta-Rovition

[inspired by a point made more pithily by Atrios]

Karl Rove:
The Web has given angry and vitriolic people more of a voice in public discourse… People in the past who have been on the nutty fringe of political life [no, he doesn't mean the gun-nuts, Jesus Freaks, and John Birchers who constituted his "Base" -- dc], who were more or less voiceless, have now been given an inexpensive and easily accessible soapbox, a blog.

Karl Rove:
We will fuck him. Do you hear me? We will fuck him. We will ruin him. Like no one has ever fucked him!

"Ponder all of the above, I say, and, when next incandescent
at the unspeakable deeds of terrorist maggots, at the spewings
of their apologists and appeasers, at the amplified jungle cacophony
of musical terrorists such as rap "artists," at the sneering nihilism
of the latest postmodern "painting," etc., qua Objectivist and
qua decent human being, salute yourself for feeling that way—and
for the thinking that led you to!"

"When next incandescent" -- I love it.

How about "when next fluorescent"? Would
that work too?

Not that I ever get either incandescent or fluorescent.
I just get more cynical -- you know, like Doris Day:
"Che sera, sera. . ."

Being fluorescent smacks of those sissy little energy saver bulbs that eco-socialist-islamo-terrorists like Al Gore are always telling us to use. Real men (like Ayn Rand) use burly, fossil fuel powered incandescent bulbs and are proud that most of the energy is waste heat. Sort of like the whole Objectivist philosophy come to think of it...
