A Trek for Millennials

I'm definitely ready for a new Star Trek series, this time recounting stories and adventures of a diverse, principled, mostly nonhuman crew of Federation scientists and doctors who have as little to do as possible with the uptight sociopaths of the reactionary militarist Star Fleet. It would be great if they made a point of having episodes written by working science fiction authors who are actually intelligent, inspiring, and provocative. Imagine Trek eps written by Nnedi Okorafor, Bruce Sterling, Becky Chambers!

. . .

In 1999, with a group of friends, Thiel founded PayPal. . .
The group. . . preferred ‘the capitalist
Star Wars to the communist Star Trek,’ Thiel says. . .

"Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its continuing mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no one has gone before."

"Turmoil has engulfed the Galactic Republic. The taxation of trade routes to outlaying star systems is in dispute. Hoping to resolve the matter with a blockade of deadly battleships, the greedy Trade Federation has stopped all shipping to the small planet of Naboo."

What objectively superior libertechbrotarian intellect would not prefer the stirring poetry of the latter to the leaden prosaic moocher woo of the former?
