Within minutes of news of yet another multiple casualty shooting, this time near Texas A & M University, a wall of public comments and tweets sanctimoniously insisting on "thoughts and prayers for the families suffering from this senseless crime" was erected around the event to ensure that nobody actually have any thoughts about it, to ensure that it remain senseless rather than understood, to ensure that more and more families suffer with nothing but the prayers of strangers for comfort because gun-nuts won't let anybody discuss common sense gun regulation in this country.
