While it remains true that Republicans are all crazytown fascists and that futurologists are all hucksters peddling pseudo-science at best and Robot Cult pseudo-faith at worst, I just am not feeling particularly inspired at the moment to point this out over and over and over again. No doubt my hilarity or outrage needle with twitch again and propel me soon enough into writing on my usual themes, but, I dunno, today...? I got nothing.

I'm with you the Republican primary has been boring for quite a while now. You can continue to get outraged over every stupid thing they say but that's exhausting.

Where is Ronald Reagan when you need him? Or. . . Charlton Heston? Clint Walker? Billy Graham?

The Great Ones have left us, I fear.

I know, can you imagine anybody producing the substance of Glenda Jackson in "Nasty Habits" or Philip Roth's anti-nixonian Our Gang in response to these killer clowns? These aren't even Babbits or Elmer Gantrys or ANYTHING -- just ill-educated ill-intentioned ill-smelling fourth-tier fascists stumbling around without even a Fuhrer to hop up and down for. You don't even have to be smart or particularly principled to resist the crappy crud at the bottom of the Cracker Barrel, blech.

And some of those futurologists would say it's about time.

Here's a comment I just have to share:

All crazy and dumb people have two things in common: they’re predictable
and they get boring very quick. Only intelligence is capable of
unpredictability and novelty (a fact which the FAI theory rests on).
This guy clearly has some condition which the incessant repetition
and rigid patterns of expression are evidence of.

So he thinks SIAI and its people are non-entities, good-for-nothings;
I suppose according to him they should basically be living on the street.
He probably isn’t doing too well himself; people who think and act
like this don’t do well in life, except perhaps as criminals or
tyrants. This anti-social pattern is so strong and insistent that
he actually may be dangerous. Perhaps forward him to the authorities.
He probably matches some profile.

Don’t stir the poor man’s confused mind, and when he gives up,
erase everything. This deserves no place in this blog archive, or
any storage medium for that matter, as it adds nothing of substance
or value to it, or to the world in general.

Berkeley allows people to lecture if they speak the postmodernist
ultra-liberal language, no actual insights required. That community is
more of a circle-jerk than transhumanism because at least normal
people care about H+, whereas the ultra-liberal postmodernist academic
community is a true echo chamber.

So there's an end of **you**!
