I'm sure the guys who rebuild scrap out of garbage dumps in India could tell you some stories.
I do find many such stories inspiring (and plenty of them desolating, too), but I can't say any of them leave me feeling any better about wasteful mass consumption or about planned obsolescence or about the toxic contents of landfills as general matters!
