Don't Give Up

This graph from Nate Silver documents, first, something the post-Reagan US Left has long known -- that progressive demonstrations and protests, however vast, rarely attract the notice of Establishment Media as compared to even marginal conservative demonstrations and protests, which are often not only endlessly spotlighted and analyzed but even sponsored by major Media outlets -- but it also documents, second, something the Left is only beginning to realize, in the aftermath of Wisconsin and in the full flush of Occupy Wall Street and the occupations it has inspired elsewhere: that real perseverance can eventually attract comparable notice and influence, even, extraordinarily enough, for progressive viewpoints supported by large majorities.
