The Kids Are All Right

Although Obama pretends that it is crazy out-of-the-box thinking to propose the legalization, regulation, and taxation of sex work, gambling, and recreational drugs, he knows better as does every liberal harm-reduction policy wonk in the reality-based community and he seems to me to be rather awkward and gawky coughing up the hairball of failed hypocritical puritanical conventional wisdom the situation officially "calls for" here. I must say that I find it a special irony of Obama's answer that in dredging up the actually catastrophically wrongheaded neoliberal chestnut that we have moved irrevocably from a manufacturing to an informational economy (that is to say, from making things to lying to ourselves) he exhibits both a willing addiction to corporatist hallucinations quite as devastating as any drug addiction and a willingness to sell-out actually representative governance to the parochial interests of moneyed elites quite as thorough as any prostitute.

No Mr. Obama: the truth is that the government's addiction to Prohibition and Incarceration has not solved the public health problem of drug use but has only worsened the problem by incarcerating millions, most of whom are colored and poor, wasting our national wealth, and eroding our Constitutional liberties.

Out all the destruction the Drug War has done to society, its only creative act was to spawn a nacro-government-drug-syndicate that is brute force, worldwide, and full of money.

To laugh at the matter is to laugh with the violent Drug Cartels, who indeed are laughing all the way to the bank with their blood-money.

Mr Obama, I must ask, why are you laughing at the countless victims of the government's War on Science, Religion, Health, Liberties, and the Poor?
